No two nights are the same. Repeat missions reveal new after-dark stories
As the sun sinks into the horizon, the reef transforms. This two-tank evening adventure begins with a late-afternoon dive along Puako's lava formations, bathed in golden light. You’ll surface to an unforgettable Hawaiian sunset, then descend again to discover the reef after dark.
Once night falls, the ocean becomes another world. Creatures change guard, corals bloom under your light, and predators emerge from the shadows. You might spot eels hunting, lobsters marching, or bioluminescence sparking like starlight in the water.
With no more than six divers on board, this journey feels more like a secret mission than a tour. From the warmth of sunset to the electricity of night, you'll experience the full cycle of the reef in one unforgettable trip.
For divers searching for a true Big Island night dive, Puako offers an experience unlike anywhere else in Hawai'i.
The evening begins in golden light, shifts through a Kona Coast sunset, and unfolds into a nocturnal reef alive with activity. Bioluminescence, hunting eels, and coral blooms make this twilight-to-dark descent one of the most dramatic scuba dives on the island.
No two nights are ever the same, and every return to Puako reveals a new chapter in the reef's after-dark story.
All gear is included. If you would like to, you may bring your own gear.
